“Flow” is the final song on Cage The Elephant’s second studio album, Thank You, Happy Birthday.
Short and simple would be a perfect way to describe this work. And that’s exactly why I love Cage The Elephant, they can give you a headbanger and they can give you laid back and mellow. No matter how you’re feeling, Cage has the answer.
The song depicts the band’s lead singer, Matt Schultz, reflecting on his life and how it came to be. It’s a great reflection song. And I think so not just because of the great acoustics, but because of how simple the lyrics are. When listening, there’s no pressure to pay attention and try to find the meaning of the song. It just flows.
I recommend grabbing some headphones, a hammock, and a cold drink. It’s the perfect song for unwinding. Enjoy!
