At just 17 years old, Houston’s Aaron May released his first album, CHASE. And from that album comes this song, which has become one of my favorite tracks in recent years. It speaks volumes that May wrote, produced, and delivered such an impactful song as a teenager.
“Let Go” is based on letting go of toxic people and relationships. The mellow vibe and sample complete a painful track built on breaking free from the situations that hold us back from our best life. It’s emotional, raw, and encouraging.
May just dropped his second studio album, one I’ve been highly anticipating. If you like J. Cole, give this young artist a listen. You’ll hear and appreciate the resemblance.
